First check to see if your book is available through MelCat - the interlibrary loan program for Michigan. These books come very quickly.

  1. Visit the MelCat page.
  2. Search for your book (other formats are available through MelCat).
  3. Find the one you want and click Get This For Me.
  4. Select Ferris from the dropdown menu and enter your Ferris information.
  5. Look for an email telling you that the item has arrived. These sometimes go to Microsoft's junk folder, so check there too.

If MelCat doesn't have what you need, we can borrow it from another library through Interlibrary Loan (aka ILL).

  1. Visit the InterLibrary Loan page.
  2. If you are new to ILL click Create An Account under the Log In box.
  3. Fill in that long list of information - you will only do this once ever.
  4. Register.
  5. Now you can fill out the information for your item. You can request articles and other formats here too. You can also request materials directly from SmartSearch and other databases now that you are registered.
  6. Watch your email for a notification that your request has arrived and then pick it up at the Check Out Desk.
