First, identify textbooks that you will need -

Use this Ferris Bookstore (Barnes & Noble) website:

Click:  Textbooks (top menu bar).  Click on each box, and you should see a drop-down menu.  Highlight the appropriate element from your list, e.g. Department = COMM, Course = 121, Section = 010  Hit the “Find Materials…” button to see the list of books and supplies.

Exact textbooks needed – It is important to check this Ferris Bookstore site to identify the exact required textbooks. Do this even if you do not purchase the books from them.  This is critical as different professors teaching the same course will have different requirements.  In some cases, the information given on the site will indicate:  “Go to class first”.

Online textbooks - Some professors are using the online version of a textbook in their Blackboard course.  You may have heard of this at orientation.  The Ferris Bookstore site should have the information, if it applies in any of your courses.

Financial Aid - The Educational Counselors have indicated that the Ferris Bookstore connects with the Scholarships & Financial Aid office to process the paperwork automatically.  You may wish to contact Scholarships & Financial Aid for details, if this applies in your case.

Scholarships & Financial Aid office -

Bookstores in Big Rapids or Online - The Ferris Bookstore (Barnes & Noble) sells textbooks.  Naturally, several book outlets exist on the internet such as Amazon, and offer texts for sale.  Choose whichever bookstore that works best for you!
